We are working to put family genealogy and history on these pages.  This will include genealolgy by Robert E. Hursey and John A. Murphy, who have done much research in this area.

We also want to include pictures and histories of the cemeteries in Tuscarawas county that contain our ancestors, as well as pictures and information on the old homesteads, schools and churches.

Hartwood Cemetery (seen on the cover page of this section) and Wesley Chapel Cemetery, among others, are the burial sites of many Hurseys and Murphys.

There is much to do, but suffice to say for now, the Murphys from Ireland and the Hurseys from England (or, some say, originally spelled Hussey) came to Ohio in the early nineteenth century. Both families settled in Washington Township, Tuscarawas County, Ohio... where some still live.
